On Saturday, April 12, 2015 the Mahinur Jahid Memorial Foundation organized the MJMF Soccer Friendship Tournament at the premises of the Alex Taylor School (E4C) in the City of Edmonton. At the event 3 local soccer teams, the Edmonton Lathials, Edmonton Jomidars and Edmonton Jodhas met to determine a winner.

On March 4, 2015 Samajkantha Online Inc. held a simple inauguration ceremony at the premises of the Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA) for the release of a new magazine project called Diverse Edmonton, which can be visited online at www.diverseedmonton.ca.

In 2014 the Bangladesh Heritage and Ethnic Society of Alberta (BHESA) introduced the Ekushey Heritage Award as a means of appreciation for people who stand out exceptionally with great achievements in helping the local community in Edmonton and vicinity area. BHESA has now announced the nominees for the Ekushey Heritage Award 2015 as the award recipients are confirmed on International Mother Language Day.

Edmonton, January 4: At the premises of Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA) a memorial meeting in honor of Mahinur Jahid was held, organized by the Mahinur Jahid Memorial Foundation (MJMF). The 27 years young Mahinur Jahid died in a tragic car accident in the city of Lloydminster of Alberta on January 4, 2012.
